Where? Deloitte House, Level 16, 10 Brandon Street
With the election right around the corner we’ve asked some of the Wellington Central candidates to come and speak to WYP members about what they stand for, why they do what they do and their achievements so far. Confirmed are James Shaw (Green Party), Stephen Whittington (ACT Party), Jordan Carter (Labour Party) and Paul Foster-Bell (National Party). Paul Foster-Bell is going to be bringing the Hon. Chris Finlayson with him, who is a list member of Parliament, Rongotai candidate, Minister for Treaty of Waitangi Negotiations, the Minister for Arts, Culture and Heritage, and to top it all off he’s also the Attorney General.
Jordan Carter is a list member of Parliament with a background in IT. He’s an expert on all the issues raised by the Internet, in terms of policy, regulation, social impact etc and the connections of these issues with wider political economy, economic development and globalisation concerns and trends.
Whether you’re new to the politics game or a savvy observer wanting information straight from the horse’s mouth there will be something here for you. We’ll also have wine and nibbles and naturally the opportunity to network and meet likeminded young professionals.
Tickets are $10 for members and $15 for non-members. To confirm your attendance email info@wyp.co.nz with your name and if you’re paying on the door or would like the bank account number to make a direct credit payment.
